on april 19th, the launch ceremony of the “youth power in the three-north shelterbelt forest program” event was held in chn energy zhunge’er energy group.
on the 1300 platform of the heidaigou open-pit coal mine of zhunge’er energy group, over 600 participants—including youth volunteers from the local government, enterprises, schools, and communities, as well as company staff—planted trees on 70 mu (about 11 acres) of reclaimed land.
despite the light rain, the atmosphere at the site was warm and enthusiastic. after a morning of hard work, the volunteers planted 3,200 fruit trees, including hawthorn and european plum.
zhunge’er energy group actively contributes to the afforestation in china. to date, the company has invested 2.88 billion yuan in reclamation and greening and completed greening of an area of 98,500 mu (16,227 acres), including 2,394 mu (394 acres) of ecological forests as part of chn energy’s afforestation program. the reclamation rate in the mining areas has reached 100%, creating an annual china certified emission reduction (ccer) project reserve worth approximately 20 million yuan.
